Castle Rock Beach. Sydney's New Favourite Beach

We all know the classics. Bondi Beach, Manly Beach, Gordons Bay. What else do we have out here?

Tucked away on a residential street, just off of the Manly to Spit walk is one of my absolute favourite beaches. Surrounded by bush, rocks and locals on their boats you'll soon realise why this beach is a new favourite.

Castle Rock Beach

Waiting for you at the bottom of a short but steep set of stairs is Castle Rock Beach.

Castle rock beach, Manly Beaches, Beaches in Sydney

A bay with the most crystal clear calm waters, it's impossible not to take a dip at this beach.

The beach has a small sandy area, if you get there early enough this would be the spot to set up. With how small the sandy area is, if it's already full, don't worry as there are plenty of rocky areas to set up.

We had to find a rock to set our stuff and luckily the rocks are flat so you can still sunbathe!

The water here is so clear, you can always see the bottom no matter how far out you swim.

Getting There

Drive to the end of Ogilvy Road in Clontarf. Once you find a spot to park walk to the end of the road. To your left the track begins.

It is a very short walk, but the stairs are steep. Head straight down the track and within a matter of minutes you're at the beach!

Although a car is helpful for this track this is also accessible on Public Transport.

You can find the route you need to take using Transport NSW Trip planner page.
