The Best View In Airlie Beach. Staying At The Whitsunday Reflections Luxury Accomodation.

Updated: Jan 29

When my partner told me he was going to surprise me with a little getaway for my birthday, I must admit, I was a little worried. Not for any reasons against him, but I am a travel agent, as well as a Virgo!

Leaving it in his hands and trying my hardest not to intervene, we flew into Prosperine Airport, realising that we will most likely be visiting Airlie Beach!

We hired a car and on our journey into Airlie Beach I see in the distance these huge apartments on top of the hill. We start driving up there, and I find out he has booked us at Whitsunday Reflections.

Whitsunday Reflections offer "Self Contained Holiday Apartments" which means you will be booking an entire apartment. This type of accommodation is great for families, independent travelers and romantic getaways.

Pulling into the driveway for Reflections the first thing you're met with is this absolutely stunning view of Airlie Beach and the Coral Sea.

If you book an ocean view room (which I strongly suggest) you will have this view from every room in your apartment!

What To Expect We had booked the 2 Bedroom apartment for 3 nights. Walking in to a stunningly spotless apartment, we had everything we'd need for our three nights.

The kitchen is huge, and offers everything you'd need in a kitchen.

They also have a laundry and a second bathroom with a 2 bedroom apartment.

The loungeroom boasts a massive TV and the bedroom even has it's own TV.

The whole apartment was modern and up to date, of course decorated with assorted sea shells.

With the Ocean View room they REALLY mean Ocean View room. The towering view of Airlie Beach can be seen from the loungeroom, and both the bedrooms! A view that was definitely easy to get used to.

The accommodation also has other important amenities, such as the spa and the pool. We spent a lot of our time in the spa, luckily it was quiet when we went so we weren't hogging the spa!

Another surprise when visiting was the bath in the bedroom! As a bath lover this was my absolute favourite thing about our room, and because the TV was in the bedroom, I could soak in the bath while watching the TV. The peak of luxury!

So... Should you book here?

Yes! These apartments fall into every category when finding accommodation, the only category where this isn't suitable would be "budget".

For what it is this is definitely not on the "high end" budget, there will be no selling of souls to spend your trip here.

Know Before You Go:

  • As they are "self contained" apartments, daily cleaning is not included

  • You will have to empty the bins and clean the kitchen if you used it before you leave

  • Most easily accessed with a car

  • A holding deposit will be required upon check in. This is a $200AUD hold on your account that gets released once you check out (If you've left the accommodation in an acceptable state)

I want to acknowledge the Ngaro people, Traditional Custodians of the land on which we visit today, and pay my respects to their Elders past and present. I extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today.

This has been my own personal experience, to truly know if it is right for you, that is for yourself to experience.
